Position Overview:

The Neurophysiology Technologist plays a crucial role in the assessment and treatment of patients with sleep disorders. This position requires a dedicated professional to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety during diagnostic testing.

Duties:

  • Prepare patients for polysomnographic evaluations, including overnight sleep studies and alertness tests.
  • Monitor patients throughout the testing process to guarantee safety and quality of recordings.
  • Conduct CPAP and Bi-Level titrations for individuals with sleep-related breathing issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Support administrative tasks within the laboratory setting.
  • Adhere to safety practices and policies in line with The Royal's standards.
  • Foster a work environment that aligns with The Royal's commitment to Anti-Racism, Harassment & Discrimination Free policies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Life Sciences or related field.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
  • Registered EEG Technologist (REEGT) certification.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) certification.
  • Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) certification.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven capability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and adapt to rapidly changing situations.
  • Current CPR Certification Level B.
  • Recent WHMIS training.
  • Proficiency in English (level A-) in oral and written communication; bilingualism in French is an asset.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $33.94 to $39.07 per hour.
