Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel across various regions to conduct visual assessments of mechanical (HVAC & plumbing) systems in the commercial and retail sectors.
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, and offer technical guidance on mechanical equipment.
  • Participate in site visits, including inspections, verifications, and meetings.
  • Interpret product specifications and engage with building plans, drawings, and designs.
  • Manage time effectively to meet all project deadlines.
  • Compile comprehensive and precise reports documenting inspection findings.
  • Understand and apply national and provincial building regulations throughout Canada.
  • Provide technical assistance as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Steamfitter 307A certification is advantageous.
  • Refrigeration/HVAC Journeyman certification (Red Seal) is beneficial.
  • Gas Fitter 1 license is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential, along with access to a vehicle.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field is required.
  • Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code and related legislation/construction standards is necessary.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, codes, and by-laws.
  • Experience in setup and maintenance is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software, including Office Suite.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the commercial or industrial sector is required.
  • Flexibility regarding work location and schedule, including travel, is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Physically capable of performing job duties in various weather conditions.
