Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations to ascertain the causes of mechanical system failures or service interruptions.
  • Deliver expert mechanical engineering consulting services, including root cause analysis, remediation options, risk assessments, and preventive measures.
  • Engage with clients across various sectors, including insurance, legal, government, and private industries.
  • Perform inspections to evaluate the design, installation, functionality, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
  • Assess failures, malfunctions, and damages to mechanical equipment to identify the origin and root causes.
  • Provide detailed engineering reports on failure analysis, damage extent, and repair specifications.
  • Serve as an expert witness in legal proceedings, mediations, and other litigation support activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and liaise with other experts to enhance investigation outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution and registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada.
  • A minimum of five years of engineering experience, with a focus on failure analysis and forensic engineering.
  • Proficiency in HVAC systems, plumbing, heavy machinery, and conducting equipment damage assessments.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.

Work Environment: The role involves a mix of office and fieldwork, requiring travel up to 40% of the time. Candidates should be prepared for occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
