Overview:
The Director of Care is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality care services to residents in a long-term care facility. As a passionate leader, you will have the opportunity to strategically guide and support a team of talented healthcare professionals who provide exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Plan, direct, coordinate, and supervise the overall program for residents, ensuring a comprehensive and person-centered approach to care.
- Admissions and Discharges: Be responsible for the admissions and discharges of residents, ensuring a smooth transition process and maintaining accurate records.
- Resident Engagement: Meet with residents and their families to resolve problems, concerns, and complaints, and review suggestions as needed.
- Care Coordination: Maintain contact with residents to ensure a high quality of care, and determine nursing staff requirements, where applicable.
- Staff Management: Select and hire competent, qualified nursing personnel, and work in cooperation with the Executive Director to direct, train, and schedule nursing personnel.
- Reporting and Compliance: Complete required monthly reports for both the Executive Director and Senior Management, and be responsible for control and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as required, and work in cooperation with the Executive Director to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization.
Requirements:
- Education: Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience as a past Director of Care within a Long Term Care Facility
- Skills: Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing is desirable, and knowledge of the nursing process is essential
- Leadership: Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, and an active interest in ongoing education and participation in mandatory educational in-services
- Computer Literacy: Must be computer literate and possess a valid driver's license
Salary/Rate Range: $100,000 - $105,000
