We are currently seeking a dedicated instructor who embodies energy and leadership, is committed to student achievement, and possesses exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver educational outcomes and activities in classroom, laboratory, and industry environments.
  • Engage in curriculum development, program evaluations, and course assessments.
  • Facilitate the educational process using instructional strategies that promote effective and efficient delivery of course content.
  • Oversee instructional delivery and cultivate a safe and productive learning atmosphere.
  • Design assessment tools to evaluate student learning and maintain accurate progress records.
  • Provide timely coaching and support to students to enhance their success and retention.
  • Address student concerns and issues promptly.
  • Utilize appropriate educational technologies for presentations, communications, and program marketing.
  • Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of program and student records.
  • Foster professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
  • Actively contribute to NAIT's Strategic and Academic Plans as outlined by the institution.
  • Use regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional enhancements.
  • Enhance instructional quality through ongoing professional development activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong technical knowledge in welding.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A genuine desire to support student success.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Bring enthusiasm, creativity, and innovative ideas that contribute positively to the program's growth and the team's collaborative culture.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Completion of a Welding Journeyperson certificate, B Pressure, and Inter-Provincial Red Seal is required.
  • Welding Automation training and experience is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent industry experience post-Journeyperson certification.
  • Teaching experience is preferred.

Applicants with educational credentials obtained outside of Canada should have their qualifications assessed by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).

Remuneration: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package. The instructor salary grid starts at $65,113,452.00 annually, with starting salaries for new hires averaging between $78,85,889.00 annually based on qualifications and experience, with room for negotiation. (Classification – Instructor).

This position is governed by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement.
