Job Title: Welding Instructor - Apprenticeship Program

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced welding instructor to join our team at NAIT. As a welding instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the welding apprenticeship program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver curriculum for the welding apprenticeship program
  • Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory, and industry setting
  • Participate in curriculum development, program reviews, and course reviews
  • Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials
  • Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment
  • Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records
  • Provide early and on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention
  • Respond to student issues
  • Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications, and program promotions
  • Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners
  • Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT's Strategic Plan and NAIT's Academic Plan as identified by the institute
  • Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
  • Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Completion of a Welding Journeyperson certificate, B Pressure, and Inter-Provincial Red Seal required
  • Welding Automation training and experience would be an asset
  • Minimum 5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson ticket
  • Teaching experience an asset
