Position Overview:

As a Senior Water Resources Engineer, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, engaging in a variety of projects that encompass civil engineering and water resource management. Your role will involve conducting hydrologic assessments in both rural and urban environments, as well as performing hydraulic analysis and design for various water-related infrastructures such as rivers, streams, and dams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, including modeling and impact assessments.
  • Oversee watershed management initiatives and natural channel design projects.
  • Lead project teams composed of diverse technical specialists.
  • Engage with clients, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and scopes effectively.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or a related engineering discipline with a specialization in water resources.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in water resources engineering consulting.
  • Proven project management skills and experience in client relations.
  • Proficiency in hydrologic modeling and hydraulic design software.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and GIS applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration with APEGA is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's or PhD in civil, environmental, or related engineering fields.
  • 11+ years of relevant consulting experience.
  • Experience with advanced hydraulic modeling software and water quality assessments.
  • Familiarity with mine water management and climate change impact analyses.
  • Experience in construction observation and fieldwork.

This position offers the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for a blend of office and remote work. Please note that some projects may require work in challenging environments, and safety training will be provided.
