Role Overview:
In this position, you will be responsible for the creation, modification, and validation of CAM programs while assisting in CAD activities for the production and maintenance of elastomer and plastic molds, press tools, and various tooling components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to enhance processes aimed at increasing automation and equipment utilization.
- Support and engage in Lean Sigma initiatives and activities, collaborating with Technical Leaders and Managers to achieve quality, delivery, and cost targets.
- Adhere to the company's safety, environmental, and quality standards consistently.
- Create, modify, and validate 3, 4, and 5-axis programs along with supporting documentation for diverse processes, machine tools, and CNC programming languages.
- Prepare, issue, and manage detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, and related production documentation in line with global industry standards.
- Utilize and support the CNC machine tool network effectively.
- Establish and manage processes to accurately communicate drawing and production information across departments.
- Document construction information and feedback from production for quality assurance, process enhancement, and issue resolution.
- Interface with and provide technical assistance to the Global Design team and site production personnel.
- Ensure compliance with all machine instructions and proper equipment usage.
- Follow all process work instructions, control plans, maintenance, and safety schedules.
- Develop programs to maximize machine efficiency through automation.
- Assist the organization in achieving all quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Proactively address reported issues, problems, or irregularities within your area of responsibility and escalate matters as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a formal engineering apprenticeship to NVQ3 level/City and Guilds or equivalent relevant experience.
- Higher National Certificate in an Engineering Discipline.
- Experience in CAM programming for CNC Milling machines (3, 4, and 5-axis).
- Extensive knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD software and design activities.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with modern cutting tools and techniques.
- Experience in CAM programming for CNC Lathes, Grinders, EDM, and WEDM.
- Knowledge of CADCAM applications and support tools.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Experience in programming, setting, and operating CNC machines with Heidenhain, Fanuc, and Mazatrol control programming languages.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
