Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Liquor Store Operations Manager to lead our team at the Westgate Liquor Store. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Store Operations
    • Oversee the daily operation and management of the liquor store in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    • Ensure the store's merchandising standards are being managed and maintained, and all programs are being implemented, measured, and managed.
    • Directly responsible for team member relations, including hiring, training, development, and performance management.
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Provide direction and leadership toward building a positive, highly motivated team.
    • Ensure the store adheres to BCLDB operating guidelines and all government regulations in labeling, pricing, sanitation, and food safety.
    • Attend and actively participate in commodity, leadership, and safety meetings.
  • Customer Service and Sales
    • Ensure exceptional customer service and a superior guest experience.
    • Drive sales growth through effective merchandising, promotions, and customer engagement.
  • Administrative and Reporting
    • Provide ongoing written and verbal feedback to the Area Manager.
    • Ensure the store's housekeeping, sanitation, and maintenance schedules/standards are managed and being maintained.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in progressive retail management positions with a proven successful track record.
  • Liquor, retail, and/or guest service background preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the ability to manage computer files efficiently.
  • Solid basic math skills and ability to read and understand financial reports.
  • Effective interpersonal, leadership, and communications skills.
  • Self-starter with motivation and ability to work in a busy environment.
  • Effective planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain relationships both internally and externally to support the organization.
  • Valid Serving it Right Certificate required.
