About the Role
The 3rd Class Stationary Engineer is a key member of our team, responsible for performing operational work in a central heating and cooling plant. This role requires a strong understanding of heating and cooling plant equipment and systems, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heating and cooling plant equipment, including boilers, chillers, generators, and distribution systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Conduct standardized tests to determine chemical concentrations in water and ensure the reliability of plant equipment.
- Prepare work orders and documents, compile operational data for monthly reports, and write reports with recommendations.
- Work with a variety of computer software programs and use manual dexterity to repair and overhaul operating plant and distribution systems equipment.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to describe mechanical problems and record information in a written shift log.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience at the Class 3 level.
- Significant knowledge of heating and cooling plant equipment and systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with a variety of computer software programs.
