**Job Summary**

The Electronics Technician II is a key member of our team at STERIS, responsible for assembling, prototyping, testing, soldering, and maintaining electronic equipment and components. This role involves a variety of tasks, including assembling, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and analyzing the performance of electronic modules, prototypes, and printed circuit boards (PCBs) to determine functionality while maintaining and repairing any identified issues.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Gather information and share ideas for future improvements in electronic testing and related protocols.
  • Identify areas for improvement through analysis and troubleshooting processes and provide creative solutions to problems.
  • Read and understand diagrams, schematics, mechanical drawings, and bills of materials to ensure a thorough understanding of the task at hand.
  • Perform routine production testing to ensure proper functionality of PCB and module designs.
  • Supervise and provide feedback to lower-level technicians.
  • Assemble electromechanical modules and control cabinets.
  • Conduct failure analysis, document results, and recommend corrective action to contribute to future revisions and prototype feasibility.
  • Assist with inventory to ensure parts are available to fulfill project requirements.

**Requirements:**

  • Two (2) or more years of related experience.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technician/Technology, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician, or four (4) additional years of related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronic components and principles, safety procedures, and electro-mechanical tools.
  • Knowledge of soldering techniques, testing procedures, methods, tools, and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams, wiring lists, Bill of Materials, and internally driven specifications.
  • Skill in precision, hand-eye coordination, fine motor control, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to set goals and work cross-functionally with other teams.
  • Ability to follow complex instructions.
