About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at GEI Consultants. As a key member of our civil design practice, you will be responsible for supporting the pursuit of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support business development activities, including proposal pursuit and client engagement.
  2. Deliver electrical engineering assignments, including condition assessments, design, and construction of municipal water and wastewater facilities.
  3. Grow an electrical and instrumentation design practice by recruiting, training, and mentoring designers and support staff.
  4. Coordinate business development activities within the civil design practice, identifying key clients, growth strategy, and capture strategy.
  5. Exemplify commitment to technical excellence, client satisfaction, and profitable project management.
  6. Serve as a technical leader and mentor, promoting a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  7. Develop a networking relationship with practitioners across the company, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and best practices.

Requirements

  1. Minimum Bachelor's Degree, with preference to an M.S. degree and Ontario Professional Engineers licensing.
  2. 15 years of electrical engineering experience, with a minimum of 10 years specializing in the Ontario municipal water and wastewater industry.
  3. Experience in instrumentation and control design and SCADA integration is considered a strong asset.
  4. Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and NFPA guidelines as it relates to water and wastewater facilities.
  5. Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
  6. Willingness and ability to travel to project/client sites as required.
  7. Valid Ontario driver's license.
  8. Resumes shall include a minimum of 3 project examples completed by the applicant within the past 10 years, including client name, location, and project scope.
  9. A minimum of 2 references shall be included in the resume.
