Job Summary

BCIT's Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a regular, full-time Assistant Instructor who is a team-oriented professional with broad practical knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals. The successful applicant will provide lab and tutorial assistance across a range of mechanical engineering disciplines, interacting with students and delivering quality curriculum.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead labs and tutorials in areas such as mechanical engineering fundamentals, engineering graphics, HVAC and plumbing design, and manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and deliver instructional materials and assessments.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to achieve departmental goals.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related credential.
  • Relevant industry experience in an engineering environment.
  • Proficient in engineering computer applications, including strong CAD skills.
  • Strong digital literacy skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
