The British Columbia Institute of Technology's Mechanical Engineering department is in search of a dedicated and full-time (1.0 FTE) Assistant Instructor . This role is ideal for an enthusiastic and collaborative professional who possesses extensive practical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing support in labs and tutorials across various mechanical engineering topics. A strong dedication to teaching, effective communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality educational content are essential.The Mechanical Engineering department at BCIT offers diplomas and an accredited degree program aimed at producing highly-skilled mechanical technologists and engineers eligible for professional registration. Key Responsibilities The Assistant Instructor will facilitate labs and tutorials in several areas, including: Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering (statics, dynamics, strength of materials) Engineering Graphics (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) HVAC and Plumbing Design Manufacturing Processes, including Welding Required Qualifications:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Relevant industry experience within an engineering context. Proficiency in engineering software applications, particularly strong CAD skills. Strong digital literacy capabilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Effective presentation abilities. Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
