About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Support Technology Analyst to join our Fixed Income Trade Capture Support Team at Citi Canada Technology Services ULC. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering world-class client service and experience by applying engineering, innovation, learning, and risk management across our systems and user environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Improve the service level provided to our end users by maximizing operational efficiencies, strengthening incident management, problem management, and knowledge sharing practices.
  • Guide development teams on application stability and supportability improvements, ensuring outstanding issues are tracked to closure, particularly long-term strategic fixes.
  • Provide technical oversight across systems and applications, leveraging skills across multiple app support areas.
  • Perform controlled resolution of incidents and problems, including prioritization and escalation to relevant groups when appropriate, root cause analysis of all problems with follow-through to resolution.
  • Review and approve planned application and infrastructure changes, helping to coordinate resourcing of releases.
  • Consult with primary clients of the application in conjunction with development managers to understand strategic objectives of users.
  • Require awareness of audit and compliance-related issues.
  • Champion stability initiatives to enable application high availability for Business-As-Usual, including better monitoring, failover, and resiliency.
  • Ability to handle incidents, problems, and change at a global enterprise level, remaining calm and analytical when faced with major incidents on critical systems.
  • Manage customer satisfaction requirements of operational procedures to achieve a suitable outcome for all stakeholders.
  • Exhibit sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex information with operations and technology partners on a regional or global basis.
  • Perform other duties and functions as assigned.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Requirements
  • 6-10+ years' experience in an Application Support role.
  • Relevant experience in a critical role with high business impact. Experience working in a financial institution and Fixed Income product knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Excellent working knowledge of key computer science concepts (networking, operating systems, virtualization, containerization, etc.).
  • Excellent debugging and analytical skills: ability to isolate root cause across networking/infrastructure, application, and database stacks.
  • Proficient Linux and SQL skills.
  • Experience of supporting applications hosted on Cloud is desirable.
  • Operational experience of using middleware technologies (Tibco EMS, Tibco Rendezvous, Solace, MQ, Kafka, etc.) to run services at scale is desirable.
  • Strong experience with end-to-end observability stacks (ITRS, Grafana, AppDynamics, Kibana, Splunk, etc.) is desirable.
  • Experience with release automation tools (e.g., Udeploy) is desirable.
  • Experience of batch scheduling tools (e.g., Autosys) is desirable.
  • Experience of senior stakeholder management.
  • Highly assertive communications skills, commanding personality. Ability to engage a large audience and lead the discussion with clear, articulate, and highly assertive communication. Must show confidence in all communications.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ability to plan and organize workload.
Education
  • Bachelor's/University Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience will be considered.
