Job Summary

Baker Tilly Canada Cooperative is seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Manager to join our team. As a Senior Tax Manager, you will play a key role in developing and implementing tax planning assignments for clients, preparing and reviewing personal and corporate tax returns, and performing technical research and documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Tax Partners and other tax staff to develop and implement tax planning assignments for clients.
  • Prepare and review personal and corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Conduct technical research and document tax plan recommendations, providing expert advice to clients.
  • Mentor, train, and develop staff, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with peers and senior management to plan and complete tax files within tight deadlines.
  • Perform other related accounting functions, ensuring seamless delivery of services.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of public accounting experience with a tax specialty and a professional designation.
  • Successful completion or in the process of completing the In-Depth Tax Program.
  • Sound technical knowledge of Canadian tax-related issues, with a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.
  • Self-motivation, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and creativity to identify problems and potential solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on client service.
  • Strong understanding of a client-focused environment, including related deadlines and the ability to work to meet those deadlines.
  • A passion for tax work and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
