Position Overview:

A Taxation Specialist will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional client services to our diverse clientele while contributing to the growth and development of our skilled team.

Professional Conduct:

The Taxation Specialist is expected to maintain ethical standards and conduct themselves with professionalism. By acting with integrity, this role will foster strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and partners to consistently deliver high-quality service in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide taxation advisory and related services to both public and private clients across various industry sectors.
  • Collaborate with partners and tax managers on corporate reorganization and planning projects.
  • Ensure timely completion of tax compliance requirements, including federal, provincial, and international filings.
  • Communicate effectively with tax authorities and assist clients during audits.
  • Engage in estate planning activities, including wills, insurance, and trusts.
  • Support the tax technician team through training, review, and supervision of tax-related tasks.
  • Conduct thorough research on clients' businesses and prepare documentation for partner review.
  • Prepare and review complex personal and corporate income tax returns.
  • Provide strategic business and tax advice to clients, including wealth management and property investment.
  • Oversee the progress of tax projects and ensure timely billing and reporting to partners.
Qualifications:
  • CPA designation with a focus on taxation.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, including participation in tax group meetings and courses.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software.
