POSITION SUMMARY

The MRO Planning Manager operates within the Business Development division, under the guidance of the Director of Business Development. This role reports directly to the Senior Manager of Business Development and is tasked with the formulation and execution of precise, competitively structured estimates. The MRO Planning Manager collaborates with various stakeholders to enhance KF's labor estimations and Pre-Planning methodologies to support customer proposals and projects.

This position oversees the Business Development Estimating team and the Pre-Planning team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and Estimating Oversight

  • Receives and processes all service requests from customers.
  • Logs customer requests and assigns tracking numbers for monitoring.
  • Collaborates with customers and contract leads to fully understand project requirements.
  • Engages stakeholders to evaluate 'go or no-go' decisions based on various strategic factors.
  • Allocates projects to MRO Planners/Estimators based on their capacity and expertise.
  • Reviews estimates generated by Estimators to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of pricing.
  • Validates sizing sheets and summary documents.
  • Acts as a liaison between customers and internal teams.
  • Identifies potential scheduling issues and communicates them for resolution.
  • Sets priorities for Pre-Planning tasks and ensures timely completion.
  • Guarantees accurate and prompt handover of packages to the relevant Hangar teams.
  • Facilitates communication and data sharing between Business Development and internal departments.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Serves as the primary contact for all maintenance-related customer needs.
  • Ensures consistent and timely customer service delivery.
  • Attends stakeholder meetings as necessary.
  • Cultivates a network of customers to pursue future opportunities.
  • Maintains customer relationships to gather industry insights and inform KF's strategic pursuits.

Maintenance Scheduling

  • Manages the overall third-party maintenance schedule.
  • Maintains the Capacity Planning schedule and collaborates with stakeholders on resource availability.
  • Ensures efficient hangar operations, considering various logistical factors.

Team Leadership

  • Oversees the human resources necessary for project execution.
  • Promotes employee development through feedback and mentorship.
  • Provides daily troubleshooting and problem-solving support.
  • Conducts performance management and related compensation processes.
  • Monitors timekeeping, including vacation requests and attendance.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives

  • Develops analytical tools to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manages the planning database, ensuring timely updates.
  • Creates and maintains templates for standard project planning.
  • Standardizes the bidding process for consistency.
  • Communicates customer feedback to internal teams for improvement.
  • Fosters collaboration with Maintenance Operations to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Participates in post-RFP reviews to refine future processes.
  • Works on improving future estimates.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assists the Senior Manager and Director of Business Development with various projects as needed.
  • Maintains customer support and communication throughout project lifecycles.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years in a planning and estimating role within aircraft heavy maintenance.
  • Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with at least 15 years of experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of workforce composition and manhours.
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of operational processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to identify potential delays.
  • Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
  • Strong prioritization and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient research and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Maintenance Manuals, ADs, and SBs.
  • Familiarity with Aircraft Technical Documents and Parts.
  • Proficient in Lawson M3, My Boeing Fleet, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.
