About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) to join our team at KF Aerospace in Kelowna, BC. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing heavy maintenance, repairs, and modifications on a variety of aircraft, including the B737 NG, MAX, Boeing 757, L382, Twin Otter, and ATR.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough inspections and maintenance on aircraft systems, including air conditioning, hydraulics, engines, flight controls, landing gear, avionics, electrical generation, oxygen, fuel, and pneumatics.
  • Engage in basic troubleshooting and repair of assigned tasks.
  • Conduct daily inspections and ensure that all maintenance activities are completed accurately and on time.
  • Receive and depart aircraft, and perform run-ups from the right seat.
  • Perform independent critical and non-critical systems checks, including oxygen, fuel, and batteries.
  • Safely operate all ground equipment and tow aircraft, including performing all positions.
  • Complete basic inspection tasks and inspect aircraft components and airframe, including engines, landing gear, flight controls, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of aircraft systems and components, including fuel systems, anti-ice, ignition, fire extinguishing, exhaust, oil, and engine indicating systems.
  • Replace or repair worn, defective, or damaged components, and measure cable tension and adjust control cables.
  • Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories, and carry out operational tests of engines and aircraft systems.
  • Provide solutions for defects while carrying out repairs, and source appropriate calibrated tooling for the job.
Documentation and Administration
  • Ensure that all documentation is completed accurately and on time, and submitted to a senior technician or shift lead for approval.
  • Source required technical information in maintenance manuals, and complete ERP processes and procedures correctly.
  • Clear up log book snags, and maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness standards.
Safety

Applying safe work practices in all job duties, including:

  • Wearing all appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Understanding and applying the Risk Management System.
  • Understanding and applying Health & Safety Policies.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping and cleanliness standards.
  • Understanding and applying safe handling practices with the aircraft.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) License, or 7 years of experience working on M2 aircraft.
  • Unlicensed mechanics are expected to have the willingness and qualifications to obtain a Transport Canada license within 1 year.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to take initiative, and demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn and understand KF Aerospace's organizational systems and workflow.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, and ability to effectively train apprentices.
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism, and basic computer skills and familiarity with Intranet.
  • Willingness to pursue additional company training as required.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, and flexibility to work any type of shift.
Benefits

As a Transport Canada Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with at least 2 years of experience, you will earn an hourly wage starting at $34.30 up to $42.87, plus additional ACA pay, with room to grow into Senior (up to $45.49) and Shift Lead roles (up to $50.40).
