As a Practical Nursing Instructor, you will:

  • Guide students through theoretical and practical learning in classroom, lab, or clinical settings, offering academic support during designated hours.
  • Adapt and/or create course objectives, outlines, curricula, and assessment tools to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Maintain comprehensive records related to course activities, including evaluations and attendance, and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
  • Organize and prepare educational materials and resources to facilitate effective course delivery.
  • Share your enthusiasm and expertise in the nursing field with students, fostering a deep understanding of the profession.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm in managing classroom dynamics, evaluating student performance, providing academic guidance, and fulfilling associated administrative responsibilities.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the CLPNM's role, entry-level competencies for Practical Nurses, and relevant regulatory standards.

To Achieve Success, You Should:

  • Be a strong communicator, eager to impart knowledge and dedicated to crafting exceptional educational experiences for students.
  • Hold relevant post-secondary nursing qualifications and possess substantial experience in acute care settings.
  • Have prior teaching experience in adult education, with familiarity in using Moodle considered an asset.
  • Maintain appropriate nursing credentials alongside other relevant post-secondary qualifications.
  • Be registered and in good standing with CRNM, CRPNM, or CLPNM, with significant teaching experience across theory, lab, and clinical settings.
  • Demonstrate a solid grasp of program and curriculum development, including principles of Indigenization and decolonization, instructional methods, assessment, and student support.
  • Exhibit strong technical skills, particularly in Microsoft Word.
  • Possess highly developed communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within the Practical Nursing team.
