About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Safety Manager to join our team at Webuild. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Protocols Implementation: Develop, establish, and enforce comprehensive safety protocols to ensure full compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards on the construction site.
  • Subcontractor Safety Compliance: Oversee the safety practices of all subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to site-specific safety policies.
  • Incident Response and Reporting: Lead investigations into any safety incidents or near-misses, ensuring thorough documentation and reporting.
  • Training and Communication: Provide safety training and ongoing education to all site personnel, including subcontractors, to foster a culture of safety awareness.
  • Safety Management System: Utilize industry-standard safety management software and tools to track and report safety metrics.
Requirements
  • Experience in Heavy Civil Construction: Significant experience managing safety on heavy civil construction projects is required.
  • Flexibility in Work Hours: Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required by project demands.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Safety Management Software: Familiarity with industry-standard safety management software and tools is necessary.
Desired Qualifications
  • NCSO Certification: Must hold a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification or an OHS certification.
  • COR Knowledge or ISO 45001 Experience: Experience with either COR (Certificate of Recognition) auditing or ISO 45001 standards is preferred.
  • Transit Project Experience: Familiarity with Transit projects is required.
