OverviewR.J. Burnside & Associates Limited is seeking qualified Engineering Assistants or Civil Technologists with a background in land development projects and a keen interest in municipal engineering design. Our Municipal Review team is poised for significant growth, and we are looking for dedicated professionals to support this expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to evaluate proposed development applications and designs for municipal clients.
- Assess engineering designs to ensure adherence to municipal design standards and civil engineering regulations.
- Serve as a communication bridge between municipal clients and developers.
- Participate in field reviews and construction inspections as needed.
- Facilitate discussions in plan review meetings with developers and municipal staff regarding design standards and requirements.
- Draft Agreements for Subdivision, Site Plan, Pre-servicing, and Site Alteration.
- Address public inquiries related to development issues.
- Prepare and deliver reports to municipal personnel.
- Update CAD drawings and GIS data as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in land development design and construction.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with CAD and GIS software is advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of the development process and relevant municipal and provincial regulations.
