We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Executive Director to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic business advice and medical expertise to our Executive Team, VP Medicine, and Senior Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement operational and clinical strategies, programs, and initiatives to improve healthcare services and outcomes.
- Provide senior clinical leadership and advocacy for major infrastructure projects that impact healthcare delivery.
- Ensure alignment of health services and activities with NS Health objectives.
- Lead collaboration and cooperation between Zones to deliver effective, quality, and safe patient-centered care.
- Provide leadership and oversight of programs, services, and activities for the effective operation of the Zone.
- Drive improvement and innovation in service delivery models and achieve agreed-upon outcome and performance goals.
- Implement service strategies congruent with the NS Health quality and sustainability plan.
- Enable effective integration of Zone programs and services with sites and services.
- Develop and maintain a strong patient/client-centered focus and culture.
- Represent the Zone to the external market and internally through community relations and marketing.
- Medical Doctorate (with or without specialty) with evidence of past and ongoing leadership training.
- CCPE/MBA/CHE is preferred.
- 5-7 years' experience at a senior leadership level involved in planning and delivering medical programs and services.
- Experience engaging, mentoring, and empowering teams and stakeholders in a collaborative, participative manner.
- Successful record of achievement as a leader, including experience in improvement and innovation in service delivery.
- Exceptional communications and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong human resource and financial planning experience and competencies.
- Permanent, full-time position.
