Medical Director

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Executive Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of healthcare in Nova Scotia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to our medical services, ensuring that we deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to our communities. You will work closely with our Vice President of Medicine and other senior leaders to develop and implement our strategic plan, and will be responsible for leading and managing our medical services teams.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in healthcare leadership, with experience in strategic planning, team management, and quality improvement. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and direction to our medical services
- Develop and implement our strategic plan, in collaboration with our Vice President of Medicine and other senior leaders
- Lead and manage our medical services teams, ensuring that they are equipped to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
- Work closely with our Quality and System Performance team to ensure that our medical services are meeting the highest standards of quality and safety
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with our stakeholders, including patients, families, and community partners
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in healthcare leadership, with experience in strategic planning, team management, and quality improvement. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key qualifications include:
- Medical Doctorate (with or without specialty)
- CCPE/MBA/CHE is preferred
- 5-7 years' experience at a senior leadership level involved in the planning and delivering medical programs and services
- Experience engaging, mentoring and empowering teams and stakeholders in a collaborative, participative manner
- Successful record of achievement as a leader, including extensive experience in improvement and innovation in service delivery
This is a permanent, full-time position, with a 75-hour biweekly schedule.
CompensationThe salary for this position is under review, and may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
