Coastal Engineer

Baird & Associates Coastal Engineers Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Coastal Engineer - Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our coastal engineering team, you will be responsible for managing projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, and exceeding client expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of coastal engineering projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering solutions that meet their expectations.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
- Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, develop proposals, and participate in client meetings to secure new projects.
- Education: Master's degree in Civil, Coastal, Marine Civil, or Environmental Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of coastal engineering experience, with a strong background in project management and technical expertise.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience with project management software.
- Qualifications: Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is an asset.
- Technical Expertise: Experience with coastal protection and defense structures, coastal erosion, and land stabilization, metocean, dredging and reclamation, coastal planning, and management.
- Construction Management: Experience with construction management, including construction observation and project monitoring.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial management.
