Course Description

This course delves into practical design principles, project engineering methodologies, and the integration of complex automation systems. It provides a hands-on approach to mechatronics, focusing on robotic-based automation while remaining relevant across various system integration domains.

Key Learning Objectives

  • Explore case studies and real-world applications of mechatronics systems.

Course Structure

The course combines lectures with tutorials and project-based learning. Students will work on projects from a curated list, receiving guidance and support from the instructor and teaching assistants.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver engaging lectures.
  • Develop and provide course materials.
  • Supervise teaching assistants in their duties.
  • Set and grade assessments, including tests and exams.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback.
  • Communicate effectively with students throughout the course.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a strong record of teaching experience or acting as a teaching assistant. A deep understanding of mechatronics systems and related engineering principles is essential. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Limited License (LEL) is highly preferred. Engineering Intern (EIT) may also be considered.
