About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at IWK Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Log and Prepare Patient Samples: Accurately log and prepare patient samples for testing, ensuring that all necessary information is recorded and documented.
  • Perform Blood Group and Type Tests: Conduct blood group and type tests for transfusion purposes, adhering to strict quality control measures.
  • Collect and Analyze Samples: Collect and analyze patient samples, performing a range of laboratory tests to support diagnosis and treatment.
Work Environment

You will work in a fast-paced hospital medical laboratory environment, collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A college diploma or CEGEP certificate in medical laboratory technology, with experience in a clinical laboratory setting an asset.
  • Clinical/Medical Laboratory Technician: Possess a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and protocols, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
