Role Overview:

The Community Connections Leader is tasked with fostering relationships among individuals, integrating them into ministry, and enhancing community engagement opportunities. Key responsibilities encompass recruiting, guiding, and nurturing the Welcome Serve Team (volunteers). This role also includes overseeing the Guest Experience at the campus. The ideal candidate will possess a unique combination of pastoral care, team leadership, and organizational acumen.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in ministry
  • Strong attention to organizational details and logistics with effective leadership and delegation skills
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, and connect volunteers to ministry programs
  • Adaptable and open to change in various situations
  • Team-oriented, willing to give and receive feedback, and capable of collaboration
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Ability to cultivate people and systems for optimal growth and effectiveness
  • Proactive and responsible, demonstrating initiative
  • Must exhibit genuine humility and work well within a team context
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check

Pastoral Responsibilities:

A pastor at Cross Timbers embodies a heart for prayer, spiritual guidance, encouragement, and leading individuals toward faith. Responsibilities may include:

  • Delivering biblical teachings to various groups within the congregation
  • Leading or overseeing a church ministry, program, or department
  • Performing religious and spiritual functions of the church
  • Conducting weddings
  • Providing pastoral (not licensed) counseling

Full-time pastors will participate in the Pastor On-Call rotation to address various pastoral needs within the church. Part-time pastors will support as time permits but will not be included in the rotation due to hour limitations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing initiatives related to the Start Here Journey using various social media platforms.
  • Collaborating with staff to ensure all first-time guests are invited to participate in the Start Here program.
  • Recruiting, developing, and leading the Welcome Team volunteers.
  • Advocating for the Serve Team within the Connections team, ensuring adherence to all processes and procedures.
  • Overseeing the creation of a welcoming atmosphere for services and events, with direct management of ushers, greeters, hospitality teams, and welcome centers.
  • Managing volunteer scheduling to ensure coverage for weekend services.
  • Supporting the Campus Team in planning and executing special events.
  • Coordinating with the Communications Team on lobby promotions and event setups.
  • Collaborating with the Hope Center Team on community initiatives.
  • Providing pastoral care to volunteers and others as directed.

Work Hours:

Full-time positions entail a 40-hour work week. Work schedules may vary by position, typically falling within a Monday-Friday or Sunday-Thursday framework. A one-hour lunch break is mandatory.

Work Environment:

The position requires physical activities such as bending, stooping, and lifting boxes weighing up to 25-50 pounds. Work is primarily conducted indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure.
