Welcome to Illuminate Universe
Our mission is to foster the next generation of business leaders who are critical thinkers, champions of inclusivity, and who are dedicated to creating a positive impact in their communities. Over the years, we've impacted thousands of Canadians through our national events, courses, educational programs, and podcasts, in partnership with Deloitte, CPA Ontario, RBC, and others. Our sister program, Illuminate Leadership Academy, is a registered private business high school in Canada, offering a curriculum inspired by Fortune 500 executives and Ivy League Professors.

Summary
The Community Leader designs and executes meaningful initiatives that benefit the greater community. Completing a project will result in payment through honorariums supported generously by our National Partners. Each community leadership project you complete is worth between $100-500 CAD. You may be able to complete multiple projects pending business needs and availability.
Students will also receive mentorship and career preparation coaching from experienced professionals who have secured internships with Fortune 100 companies. This valuable guide will help navigate the competitive landscape of Fortune 100 internships.
We also provide a training program that equips students with the necessary skills for a successful career. Upon completion, students can expect a clear career trajectory, empowering them to shape their own futures.
This position is part-time and remote. The time commitment is 1-5 hours per week based on project needs, availability, and your schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Mentorship to High School Students:
- Provide strong mentorship and guidance skills to support high school students participating in Illuminate Universe programs.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that empowers students to develop their leadership and business skills.
- Collaborate with the team to design and deliver engaging learning experiences and workshops that inspire student growth and development.
Marketing Communications:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies to effectively promote Illuminate Universe programs.
- Create compelling and engaging content for various marketing channels, including social media platforms, blogs, and newsletters.
- Conduct market research, analyze data, and identify emerging trends to continuously improve marketing effectiveness and reach.
Project Coordination and Management:
- Assist in coordinating and managing multiple projects within Illuminate Universe, ensuring their smooth execution and timely completion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project goals, deliverables, and timelines.
- Monitor project progress, proactively identify potential issues or roadblocks, and propose effective solutions to ensure project success.
Curriculum Development:
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of curriculum materials for Illuminate Universe programs.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and instructional designers to create engaging and effective learning resources for high school students.
- Feedback Collection and Analysis:
- Implement feedback collection mechanisms like surveys to gather input from students, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Analyze feedback data to identify areas of improvement and make informed decisions to enhance program quality and effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Current university student pursuing a degree in a related field (e.g., business, marketing, education).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to collect and interpret data effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, and graphic design platforms.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
