Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Project Engineer to join our team at Standard Aero. As a key member of our Facilities Engineering group, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining industrial facility systems, process equipment, and machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement various facilities initiatives, including industrial ventilation, dust collection, cooling towers, and heat exchangers.
  • Coordinate resources and drive timelines for construction and site implementation projects.
  • Obtain professional drawings and approvals through consulting services.
  • Provide engineering guidance to internal teams.
  • Implement company Environmental Social Governance (ESG) projects, including energy efficiency and environmental impact improvements.
  • Identify and develop projects to support Continuous Improvement for various energy and operational savings initiatives.
  • Assist with establishing and overseeing trades and contractors for performing project and maintenance work.
  • Execute projects as a Project Manager, working individually or part of a larger team.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, facility, and engine test systems to provide technical support and coordination for the Maintenance Team.
  • Establish preventative and predictive maintenance opportunities for facility systems and industrial equipment.
  • Provide written and verbal feedback to internal customers requiring facilities engineering support for new and existing systems.
  • Support over 30 sites globally from the Winnipeg office and travel as required.
  • Provide off-site or call-in support for critical after-hours facility and maintenance issues.

Requirements

  • Experience in a related industry, 1-5 years' work experience in an industrial or construction environment.
  • Experience owning multiple projects and applying Project Management principles.
  • Experience interpreting and reviewing technical drawings, coordinating various trades and contractors.
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, decision-making, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Effectively communicate in a professional manner.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, fire, health, and safety, building, plumbing, and electrical codes.
  • Knowledge of methods, practices, and techniques of maintaining buildings and facilities.
  • University degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to travel for up to 30% of the time based on project requirements.
