Facility / Project Engineer

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, Facilities & Maintenance, you will be responsible for the design, manufacturing, implementing, testing, troubleshooting and support for industrial facility systems, process equipment, machinery, and engine test systems for an industry-leading Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul organization for gas turbine engines and components. The Facilities Engineering group participates in industrial design & construction initiatives across an enterprise of over 30 sites worldwide.

Specific Accountabilities
  1. Design and implement various facilities initiatives with consideration to industrial ventilation, dust collection, cooling towers and heat exchangers, pumping and piping systems, chemical processes, waste water, HVAC, area layouts, building envelope & grounds, and energy-savings improvements
  2. Coordinate resources and drive timelines for construction and site implementation projects
  3. Obtain professional drawings and approvals when required through consulting services
  4. Provide Engineering internal company guidance
  5. Focal for implementation of company Environmental Social Governance (ESG) projects including GreenERmro energy efficiency & environmental impact improvements
  6. Identify and develop projects to support Continuous Improvement for various energy and operational savings initiatives
  7. Assist with establishing and overseeing of various trades and contractors for performing project and maintenance work
  8. Execute projects small and large as the Project Manager, working individually or part of a larger team, with a large variety of concurrent tasks and projects
  9. Troubleshoot equipment, facility, and engine test systems to provide technical support and coordination for the Maintenance Team
  10. Establish preventative and predictive maintenance opportunities for facility systems and industrial equipment
  11. Provide written and verbal feedback to internal customers requiring facilities engineering support for new and existing systems
  12. Provide the above support to over 30 sites globally from Winnipeg office and embrace opportunities for travel
  13. Provide off-site or call-in support for critical after-hours facility and maintenance issues
  14. Have a high tolerance for a fast paced, changing environment with frequent new, unfamiliar problems
Technical Requirements
  • Experience in a related industry, 1-5 years’ work experience in an industrial or construction environment
  • Experience owning multiple projects and applying Project Management principles
  • Experience interpreting & reviewing technical drawings, coordinating various trades and contractors
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, decision making, oral and written communication skills
  • Effectively communicate in a professional manner
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, fire, health and safety, building, plumbing and electrical codes
  • Knowledge of methods, practices and techniques of maintaining buildings and facilities
  • University degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to travel for up to 30% of the time based on project requirements
