Overview of the Role
The Senior Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing various projects within the department. This position is responsible for ensuring that all project deliverables are achieved within the designated timelines and budgetary constraints as outlined in the project framework. The Senior Project Coordinator will direct and synchronize project activities, including financial oversight and resource management, to meet the established project goals. Additionally, this role will track and assess performance metrics related to project outcomes, while providing leadership and support to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Develops comprehensive project charters, timelines, and objectives to clearly define project deliverables. Implements project plans following established methodologies, ensuring coordinated completion of all project components while facilitating stakeholder consensus as necessary. Monitors project progress in accordance with the project plan and defined metrics. Reports on project status and identifies significant challenges encountered. Makes informed decisions and recommendations regarding project scope and necessary adjustments to ensure successful outcomes. Contributes to the development of effective processes for assessing project risks, identifying mitigation strategies, and monitoring risks throughout the project lifecycle. Formulates and manages project budgets, considering operational demands and resource limitations. Utilizes best practices to monitor and adhere to budget allocations, including variance reporting and operational adjustments to meet financial targets. Provides leadership and direction to project staff, maintaining full accountability for personnel management, including hiring and disciplinary actions.Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master's Degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or a related healthcare field, along with a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in project management and stakeholder engagement. A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset. Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies, change management, and chronic disease management is essential for success in this role. Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively navigate a complex interdisciplinary environment, including interactions with healthcare professionals. Proficiency in various software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, project management tools, and databases, is required.
