Overview:

As a vital member of our pharmacy team, the Pharmacy Support Specialist will assist pharmacists in delivering exceptional pharmacy services while contributing to the achievement of corporate objectives. This role involves collaborating closely with the on-duty pharmacist and Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with operational standards and regulatory practices.

Key Responsibilities:


• Execute all facets of the dispensing process efficiently.


• Process prescription refill requests and verbal orders in line with relevant laws and regulations.


• Maintain and update patient profiles, ensuring accurate scanning and filing of records.


• Liaise with prescribers for various operational needs.


• Manage incoming calls and check voicemail messages.


• Assist customers with product inquiries on the sales floor and at the checkout.


• Monitor and respond to emails in a timely manner.


• Receive inventory and verify that products match invoices, ensuring proper storage.


• Conduct inventory management tasks as required.


• Process and reconcile invoices and maintain inventory logs.


• Utilize wholesaler platforms for various operational functions.


• Support dispensary documentation as directed.


• Uphold store standards and cleanliness, including maintaining the dispensary area.


• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist.


• Adhere to all company policies, government regulations, and health and safety standards.

Qualifications:


• Education: Completion of a Pharmacy Assistant Program.


• Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a retail pharmacy environment.


• Proficient in current PC systems, MS Office applications, and pharmacy software (Kroll).


• Strong interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative work atmosphere.


• Effective communication skills to engage with customers and colleagues respectfully.


• Excellent organizational abilities to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.


• Customer service orientation to meet and exceed customer expectations.


• Openness to constructive feedback for ongoing professional development.


• Initiative to independently identify and complete necessary tasks.

Relationships:

The Pharmacy Support Specialist will receive guidance from the Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacist, and Pharmacy Technician. This role involves interaction with various internal departments and external partners.
