About the Role:

MediSystem Pharmacy Limited is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a medication distribution specialist role. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and quality of medication distribution to long-term care and complex care sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accuracy of prepared medication by checking each prescription and ensuring legal compliance and product quality.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate corrections are completed when identified.
  • Accurately count and reconcile Narcotic and Controlled medications.
  • Responsible for checking products in an organized and efficient manner to maintain workflow and ensure delivery routes leave at their scheduled times.
  • Protect patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with regulations.
  • Stay current with and comply with legal requirements, professional standards, and workplace policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Licensed and registered with the College of Pharmacists as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT), in good standing.
  • Liability insurance to legally practice as a RPhT.
  • A minimum of 1 year of continuous working experience in a pharmacy environment (Long Term Care, Hospital, or Retail).
  • Experience with high-volume filling environments is preferred.
  • Experience working with PacMed or PacVision is an asset.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to complete work with minimal supervision.
  • Team player and leadership skills.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
