At the Engineering Society of Queen's University, we are committed to enhancing the design and functionality of UAV drones for competitions at both national and international levels. With the increasing demand for aerospace innovations, our team has witnessed remarkable growth, comprising over 60 dedicated undergraduate members.
This year, we successfully developed a pioneering Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This fully autonomous, carbon fiber eVTOL features a 3-meter wingspan, four vertical lift motors for multicopter operation, and a pusher motor for cruising, enabling 45 minutes of flight at a speed of 80 km/h. Key highlights of the eVTOL include a custom 2-axis gimbal, complete autonomy powered by a high-speed onboard computer, and a cabin designed for four simulated passengers.
Looking ahead, we aim to push the boundaries further with innovative designs and initiatives as we prepare for international expansion.
Our organization provides a distinctive development and design experience for students. Divided into three specialized divisions—Aeromechanics, Electrical, and Software—we are eager to continue our rapid growth by welcoming motivated individuals to advance drone technology.
Position Summary
The focus of our team is on enhancing operational efficiency and refining business processes, which are crucial for our continued growth. This role emphasizes increasing sponsorship revenue and elevating the quality of marketing initiatives. We are expanding our Business Operations Branch to improve communication and project management by introducing a new position, Director of Business Operations.
As a key member of the executive team, the Director will lead and manage all business operations. This role involves close collaboration with the Sponsorship, Marketing, and Logistics Subteam Managers while directly coordinating with team leaders.
