Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Secretary to join our team at the Mount Sinai Hospital Site. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our medical staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our clinics and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to medical staff, including scheduling appointments, preparing charts, and retrieving laboratory results.
  • Manage patient records, including updating personal information and filing laboratory reports.
  • Assist with daily mail, including sorting and distributing lab results.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and families, responding to their inquiries and concerns.
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, communicating with nursing staff, physicians, and laboratory staff as needed.
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree from an accredited educational institution, with preference given to those who have graduated from a Medical Secretary program.
  • One (1) year of recent office support experience in a high volume ambulatory setting.
  • Excellent medical dictation typing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Appointment Scheduler.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and effectively in a fast-paced/high-stress environment.
  • Ability to communicate and read using English in order to effectively perform essential requirements of this position.
