Key Responsibilities:- Customer-Centric Focus: Advocate for a culture centered around customer needs to enhance client relationships and leverage the broader knowledge and systems of the Bank.
- Design Influence: Play a significant role in shaping design decisions for digital experiences that reach millions of users daily.
- Visual Strategy Evolution: Advance Scotiabank's digital visual strategy across various products and experiences, refining design quality in collaboration with the design community.
- Collaborative Ideation: Work closely with fellow UX/Product Designers to brainstorm and visualize innovative concepts that elevate user experience.
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Partner with the broader design community, including Design Strategists and Content Writers, to develop and refine ideas, supporting the vision and storytelling of our products.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Present and articulate your design rationale to key stakeholders and team members.
- User Understanding: Leverage design research and usability principles to comprehend user motivations and needs.
- Accessibility Advocacy: Promote and implement accessible design principles.
- Mentorship: Provide constructive feedback and guidance to Designers of varying experience levels.
- Operational Excellence: Pursue effective operations in alignment with Scotiabank's Values and Code of Conduct.

- 3-5+ years of comprehensive experience in product/UX/UI design, showcasing advanced UI and visual design capabilities.
- Educational background in Design, Art Direction, or related fields.
- Exceptional storytelling skills, with a talent for creating visually rich narratives.
- Passion for establishing standards and design systems that yield significant impact through simplicity.
- Meticulous attention to detail in craft, composition, imagery, typography, iconography, and color.
- Awareness of current design and cultural trends across various mediums.
- Strong communication skills, capable of effectively presenting ideas to diverse audiences.
- A compelling portfolio demonstrating excellence in UI/UX design and visual storytelling.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma, and/or Sketch.
- A quick learner with a desire to understand both simple and complex financial solutions.
- A positive and resilient personality, eager for feedback and continuous iteration.
- A proven track record of applying design thinking and user-centered design principles.
- Bonus Skills: Experience in illustration, animation, and/or video editing; familiarity with prototyping software.
