Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Plumber to join their team at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled work at the journeyman level in the repair, maintenance, and installation of plumbing systems, fixtures, apparatuses, control equipment, and piping equipment used in medical gases, lab gases, water supply, fire protection systems, and waste drainage systems throughout the hospital.
  • Inspect and test cross-connection and backflow prevention systems in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Plumber.
  • Valid Certificate of Competency as a Cross Connection Control Specialist issued by the American Water Works Association, British Columbia Section.
  • Two (2) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Class B level Gas Fitter's License with an electrical endorsement recognized by the Province of BC may be required depending on site specifications.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
