Position Summary
As a Plumber at Providence Health Care, you will collaborate with the Facilities Maintenance team to perform a variety of maintenance tasks. Your responsibilities will include the installation, modification, repair, and testing of plumbing systems and equipment, adhering to local and provincial building codes and regulations.

Providence Health Care is a non-profit organization operating over fifteen facilities, including a major tertiary hospital and several community healthcare centers. We are recognized as a leading teaching and research institution, providing a wide range of services from acute care to specialized treatment programs, focusing on patient-centered care.

Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications
- Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Plumber, along with a Class B level Gas Fitter's License recognized by the Province of B.C.
- Valid Certificate of Competency as a Cross Connection Control Specialist issued by the American Water Works Association, British Columbia Section.
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
Skills and Abilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Physical capability to perform job duties.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Organizational skills to manage work efficiently.
- Competence in operating relevant equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review work requests and consult with supervisors regarding project specifications and requirements.
- Prepare for work assignments by conducting operational and safety assessments, coordinating schedules, and gathering necessary tools and materials.
- Install and repair plumbing systems using various methods, including soldering and caulking.
- Conduct inspections and maintenance of plumbing systems to ensure compliance with applicable codes.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, completing necessary documentation.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
Vaccination Requirement
In accordance with current public health orders, all employees of Providence Health Care must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
