Job Title: Mine Technician Associate

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mine Technician Associate to join our team at SSR Mining. As a key member of our Technical Services Department, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our mine operations, including surveying, planning, and design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide underground and surface surveying services, including daily markups, bonus pickups, and month-end surveys.
  • Maintain and update production and development databases, mine development drawings, and mine level plans.
  • Assist the engineering team with stope reconciliation surveys and data analysis.
  • Provide project planning services for the Operations and Technical teams.
  • Work with the geology and engineering department on mineral lease documentation.
  • Assist with field-level geotechnical QA/QC testing and instrumentation installation and monitoring.
  • Assist the mine planning team with short-term planning duties, focusing on long-hole design.
  • Interact with the Technical Services team to ensure team focus and adherence to programs, systems, and procedures.
  • Update current technical services policies, procedures, and systems as required.
  • Create a strong safety culture through engagement and empowerment of others.
  • Engage in all engineering functions and ensure that service and operating guidelines are executed with excellence.
  • Work with Technical and Operations teams on capital equipment appropriation documentation.
  • Align with the Company's SHEMS system as it applies to the Technical Services Department.

Requirements:

  • Certificate or Diploma of Technology in Mine Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in underground mine surveying.
  • Member of SASTT (or similar provincial governing body) with either an (A.Sc.T.) or (C.Tech) with an appropriate amount of experience.
  • Experience with Deswik, Leica Captivate, AutoCad, Mine Markup/MineCAD, Carlson Boretrak, and Teledyne Optech would be considered an asset.

About Our Working Conditions:

This position has a schedule of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off at our remote camp, with pick-up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and La Ronge.
