Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead Forensic Audit Specialist to enhance our internal investigation team (IIU). In this pivotal role, you will significantly influence our efforts to investigate internal threats. Your passion for data analysis and investigative work will be crucial in leading our investigations. As the fraud expert, you will serve as a mentor and role model for your colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain IIU Fraud Detection Tools.
  • Oversee issue tracking and escalation processes to ensure timely and sustainable resolution of actions and recommendations from tool development.
  • Take full ownership of non-detection and investigation activities, operating with minimal supervision.
  • Review multiple claims, documents, and communications to identify internal threats and respond appropriately.
  • Lead investigations involving data extraction, analysis, open-source research, and collaboration with executive teams, providing support to fellow IIU members.
  • Conduct interviews with internal personnel and witnesses.
  • Train new team members, serving as a mentor and role model.
  • Stay informed by attending relevant training and seminars, and organize training sessions for the IIU team.
  • Review team files and identify training opportunities.
  • Collaborate with IIU management to identify business risks and develop actionable plans.
  • Act as a leader within the team, supporting IIU management.

Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of experience in Forensic Accounting, Audit, Insurance, or Investigation.
  • A Master’s degree in Forensic Accounting is advantageous.
  • Current CPA-CFF designation (Québec CPA-EJC).
  • AMF Licence 5a.
  • Bilingualism is required for candidates located in Quebec to facilitate regular interaction with English-speaking colleagues nationwide.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner designation is a plus.
  • Proficient in computer technology, particularly Excel, with a capacity to learn new systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of producing clear, concise, and factual reports.
  • Ability to drive strategic and tactical change autonomously.
  • Capability to maintain a global perspective and navigate ambiguity effectively.
  • Proactive in identifying trends, drawing meaningful conclusions, and implementing recommendations.
