Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mobile Equipment Operations Manager to join our team at Drax Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our mobile equipment fleet across North America.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit and Compliance: Regularly review and assess the safety and efficiency of interactions between mobile equipment and pedestrians across all North American sites, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Incident Investigation and Prevention: Support incident investigations involving mobile equipment to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Training and Development: Ensure all training records are up-to-date and that training materials meet current standards and regulatory requirements, providing expert guidance and support to site leadership.
  • Procurement and Vendor Management: Collaborate with the procurement team and key vendors to facilitate the onboarding of new mobile equipment, ensuring equipment meets operational and safety standards.
  • Equipment Suitability and Optimization: Assess the appropriateness of equipment for specific tasks, ensuring the selection of the right tools for the job, and implement best practices for traffic flow within fibre yards.
  • Rail Compliance and Training: Oversee compliance with rail regulations at all sites, ensuring all practices align with legal requirements, and maintain up-to-date rail training for all personnel.
  • Site Support and Inspection: Provide on-site support during regulatory inspections, ensuring compliance and providing expert guidance and support to site leadership.

About You:

  • Experience and Qualifications: You will possess extensive experience operating mobile equipment in a relevant industry, with a strong understanding of operations process flow within pellet production or similar environments.
  • Safety Leadership: You will have a strong commitment to safety, adhering to Drax's Golden Rules of Safety, and promoting a culture of safety within the team.
  • Interpersonal and Analytical Skills: You will have excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration, along with strong analytical skills for problem-solving.

Leadership and Management:

  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: You will be responsible for keeping key stakeholders informed of any changes, working collaboratively to ensure regulatory best practices are followed.
  • Site Leadership Support: You will assist site leadership in addressing mobile equipment-related inquiries and challenges, providing expert guidance and support.
