About the Role:

The Maintenance Assistant/Shop Hand is a key member of the Maintenance Team at Bison Transport. This role is responsible for performing quick lube services, minor mechanical repairs, and other duties in an efficient and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform quick lube services and minor mechanical repairs
  • Assist in the maintenance of equipment and vehicles
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly checklists to ensure equipment is in good working order
  • Participate in general shop and yard clean-up activities
  • Assist in the cleaning of customer and internal DPF filters
  • Provide support to other departments as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Valid G/Class 5 driver's license
  • Minimum Grade 12 or enrolled in a High School Apprenticeship Program
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform manual labor
  • Adaptable and able to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capable of multi-tasking and achieving required deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Detailed oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills

Work Schedule:

  • Weekdays: Monday to Thursday from 5:30 – 16:00
