Currently, DOF Subsea Canada is in search of a meticulous and client-oriented professional for the role of Senior Engineer. Success in this role hinges on the ability to collaborate effectively with both offshore and onshore teams. The Senior Engineer will report directly to the Project Technical/Engineering Manager and will receive daily guidance on tasks such as analyses, report/document reviews, tendering, and design activities. Key Responsibilities

  • Support DOF Subsea's primary business initiatives and those of its clients, including Light Subsea Construction, Subsea Intervention, Decommissioning, Permanent Mooring Installation/Disconnection, Engineering Studies, and Tenders. This includes lift rigging design, lift planning, and installation analyses specific to these core business areas;
  • Ensure the successful completion of assigned project phases within budgetary and time constraints, adhering to company policies;
  • Contribute to regional efforts aimed at developing innovative solutions to client challenges that align with our core business;
  • Assist in business development and tendering activities as directed by management;
  • Proactively seek to create safe, practical, cost-effective, and cutting-edge solutions to technical challenges encountered in projects;
  • Promote the ongoing development of our Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) culture and systems to minimize risks to personnel, the environment, and equipment;
  • Foster the company's organizational culture, values, and reputation among all stakeholders, including staff, customers, suppliers, partners, and regulatory bodies;
  • Encourage open communication between engineering and operations to cultivate a productive work environment;
  • Work diligently towards achieving Regional and Departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
  • Execute all responsibilities in accordance with legal and ethical standards;
  • Offshore work will be required;
  • Perform other engineering duties as assigned by third parties in the case of secondments.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Civil, Mechanical, Ocean & Naval Architecture, Structural, or equivalent);
  • Basic Survival Training (BST) is advantageous due to offshore work requirements;
  • Professional Engineering license;
  • 5-10 years of experience in subsea project/installation engineering;
  • Familiarity with procedural writing related to offshore ROV construction activities;
  • Experience supervising equipment System Integration Testing and functionality testing;
  • Experience with project vessel mobilizations and demobilizations;
  • Offshore field experience in the installation and decommissioning of subsea infrastructure;
  • Knowledge of specialized software is beneficial (e.g., Ansys/Inventor for Structural/Mechanical Engineers, Orcaflex for Hydrodynamics-Subsea Engineers, etc.);
  • Understanding of the marine environment and the technical challenges associated with executing projects in these conditions;
  • Familiarity with subsea infrastructure components, deployment/recovery methodologies, equipment handling restrictions, and testing requirements;
  • Knowledge of DNV lifting and underwater deployment/recovery codes relevant to marine operations;
  • Analytical and technical skills specific to lowering analyses and rigging design are advantageous;
  • General technical knowledge of sea fastening design and analysis (including vessel motions and structural design);
  • General awareness of industry and regulatory standards, best practices, and design codes;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills;
  • Willingness to perform the necessary work to complete projects on time while meeting client expectations;
  • Willingness to share knowledge and mentor team members;
  • Professional demeanor that consistently promotes company interests.
