Currently, DOF Subsea Canada is on the lookout for a meticulous and client-oriented professional to fill the role of Senior Engineer. Success in this position hinges on the ability to work collaboratively with both offshore and onshore teams. The Senior Engineer will report directly to the Project Technical/Engineering Manager and will receive daily guidance on tasks such as analyses, documentation reviews, tender submissions, and design activities. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in advancing DOF Subsea's core business objectives and those of its clients, including Light Subsea Construction, Subsea Intervention, Decommissioning, and Engineering Studies, among others. This includes responsibilities such as lift rigging design, lift planning, and installation analyses.
  • Ensure the successful execution of assigned project phases within established budgetary and time constraints, adhering to company policies.
  • Contribute to the regional initiative of developing innovative solutions to client challenges that align with our core business.
  • Support business development and tendering efforts as directed by management.
  • Proactively seek to devise safe, practical, and cost-effective solutions to technical challenges encountered in projects.
  • Foster the continuous improvement of our Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) culture and systems to minimize risks to personnel, the environment, and equipment.
  • Promote the company's values, culture, and reputation among all stakeholders, including staff, clients, suppliers, partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Encourage open communication between engineering and operations to cultivate a productive work environment.
  • Work diligently towards achieving Regional and Departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Execute all responsibilities in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Offshore work will be a requirement.
  • Perform additional engineering duties as assigned by third parties in the event of secondments.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Civil, Mechanical, Ocean & Naval Architecture, Structural, or equivalent).
  • Basic Survival Training (BST) is advantageous due to offshore work requirements.
  • Professional Engineering license.
  • 5-10 years of experience in subsea project or installation engineering.
  • Familiarity with procedural documentation related to offshore ROV construction.
  • Experience supervising equipment System Integration Testing and functionality assessments.
  • Experience with project vessel mobilizations and demobilizations.
  • Offshore field experience in the installation and decommissioning of subsea infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of specialized software (e.g., Ansys/Inventor for Structural/Mechanical Engineers, Orcaflex for Hydrodynamics in Subsea Engineering).
  • Understanding of the marine environment and the technical challenges associated with project execution in these conditions.
  • Familiarity with subsea infrastructure components, deployment/recovery methodologies, and equipment handling restrictions.
  • Knowledge of DNV lifting and underwater deployment/recovery codes relevant to marine operations.
  • Analytical and technical skills specific to lowering analyses and rigging design are beneficial.
  • General technical knowledge of sea fastening design and analysis, including vessel motions and structural design.
  • Awareness of industry and regulatory standards, best practices, and design codes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to completing projects on time while meeting client expectations.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and mentor team members.
  • Professional demeanor that consistently promotes company interests.
