About the Role
Cavendish Farms, a leading producer of frozen food products, is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to lead various projects and new equipment installations. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high level of quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage capital projects from preliminary discussions to installation and commissioning, including:
- Scope definition and development
- Consultant management and coordination
- Equipment specifications and procurement
- Budget estimation and tender package preparation
- Drawing review and schedule development
- Procurement and contractor supervision
- Commissioning and follow-up
- Manage information exchange between operations, maintenance, engineering, and vendors for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Ensure that projects are on time and budget.
- Determine how automation can be included in the project.
- Track project details to ensure milestones and targets are met.
- Take project lead of power distribution, automation, controls, instrumentation, networking, and other electrical works.
- Provide technical support to maintain existing electrical infrastructure.
- Help troubleshoot issues with electrical systems such as power distribution, motor controls, and PLCs.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical or equivalent degree.
- Exposure to a food operating plant environment would be an asset.
- Understanding of quality and timeline expectations from all work streams.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD would be an asset.
- Knowledge of the following codes and standards would be an asset:
- General Awareness of the Canadian Electrical Code and industrial best practices is an asset.
