This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Environmental Management Oversight: Conduct thorough inspections and monitoring to ensure adherence to environmental best practices and regulatory standards across all company facilities.
  • Data Collection and Environmental Monitoring: Gather essential environmental data and samples in compliance with regulatory requirements at remote gravel extraction sites.
  • Inventory and Drone Operations: Support inventory management through monthly drone surveillance and modeling tasks, ensuring completion by month-end.
  • Regulatory Compliance Management: Track and manage authorizations for all facilities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, including the Code of Practice for Pits and the Water Act.
  • Aggregate Resource Identification: Engage in the identification of potential aggregate reserves through ground truthing and testing methodologies.
  • Operational Assistance: Provide essential support for mining operations and the reclamation processes of gravel pits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in environmental science, agrology, biology, forestry, or a related field.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with a relevant professional association in Alberta.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in environmental permitting, monitoring, and compliance.
  • Current knowledge of environmental regulations at federal, provincial, and municipal levels, particularly concerning sand and gravel operations.
  • Possession or willingness to obtain a Drone Pilot Certificate for Advanced Operations.
  • Experience in the sand and gravel mining sector is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with GIS software is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in remote field environments with minimal supervision.
