This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Environmental Management Oversight: Conduct thorough inspections and monitoring to ensure adherence to environmental best practices and regulatory standards across all company facilities.
- Data Collection and Environmental Monitoring: Gather essential environmental data and samples in compliance with regulatory requirements at remote gravel extraction sites.
- Inventory and Drone Operations: Support inventory management through monthly drone surveillance and modeling tasks, ensuring completion by month-end.
- Regulatory Compliance Management: Track and manage authorizations for all facilities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, including the Code of Practice for Pits and the Water Act.
- Aggregate Resource Identification: Engage in the identification of potential aggregate reserves through ground truthing and testing methodologies.
- Operational Assistance: Provide essential support for mining operations and the reclamation processes of gravel pits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in environmental science, agrology, biology, forestry, or a related field.
- Registered or eligible for registration with a relevant professional association in Alberta.
- A minimum of two years of experience in environmental permitting, monitoring, and compliance.
- Current knowledge of environmental regulations at federal, provincial, and municipal levels, particularly concerning sand and gravel operations.
- Possession or willingness to obtain a Drone Pilot Certificate for Advanced Operations.
- Experience in the sand and gravel mining sector is advantageous.
- Familiarity with GIS software is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in remote field environments with minimal supervision.
