About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer to join our team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our Water Resources Engineering Group, you will be responsible for leading and supporting various projects related to water resources, including flood assessments, flood mapping, and flood mitigation designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead or support water resources projects, including flood assessments, flood mapping, and flood mitigation designs.
  • Conduct hydraulic and hydrologic analyses, including design of hydraulic structures, surface water diversions, and water control structures.
  • Undertake open-channel hydraulics and hydrologic modeling.
  • Participate in project planning, execution, and management.
  • Provide engineering support on cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Manage multiple project deadlines, budgets, and scope changes.
  • Write proposals and technical reports.
  • Lead or support multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Provide technical direction and career development/mentoring to junior staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering.
  • Eligibility for immediate registration with APEGA as a Professional Engineer.
  • 5 years minimum experience in surface water resources engineering projects.
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.
  • Experience working with dams, hydraulic structures, and mine water management.
  • Experience in open-channel hydraulics, river engineering, erosion protection, and scour analysis.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and people skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to manage time and resources effectively.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
