Role Summary

The Senior Business Systems Consultant, Business Systems Analyst Lead works closely with internal and external stakeholders, including technology and business teams, to design and implement tailored data solutions that meet project requirements. This role involves capturing and documenting requirements, developing test strategies and plans, executing testing, and ensuring successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of business issues and data challenges, delivering exceptional results and solutions.
  • Ensure clear and complete requirements, eliminating uncertainties and ambiguities.
  • Establish the quality of solutions through validation against requirements.
  • Collaborate with project team members to identify and resolve issues, ensuring successful delivery.
  • Escalate issues promptly when required.
  • Participate in project planning to establish workload expectations and schedules.
  • Meet deadlines and strive to complete work in accordance with project plans.
  • Drive requirements gathering and ownership, creating detailed requirements documents.
  • Provide ongoing updates and review throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and execute test strategies and plans, creating test cases.
  • Own defect management and drive regression testing if required.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5-8 years of experience in technical projects, including 5 years as a Business Systems Analyst.
  • Detailed knowledge of SDLC methodologies, specifically Agile and Waterfall.
  • Experience working with databases, data warehouses, analytics, and reporting.
  • Experience in ETL and SQL, Teradata, or Oracle.
  • General knowledge of analytics/business intelligence tools and cloud platforms.
  • Demonstrated skills in documenting requirements and collaborating with internal and external teams.
  • Critical thinking capabilities and a consultative mindset.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Software or Computer Science/Engineering fields or related industry experience.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience as a Data Analyst.
  • Experience in Snowflake.
  • Prior experience working with clients in the retail industry.
