Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional healthcare services.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, providing nursing care to patients in a variety of settings. You will be responsible for assessing patients, developing and implementing care plans, and providing education to patients and families. You will also work collaboratively with our healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care to patients in a variety of settings, including acute care, residential care, and community-based settings.
  • Assess patients and develop and implement care plans that meet their individual needs.
  • Provide education to patients and families on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with our healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant.
  • One (1) year of recent, related acute care or residential experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills within a specific clinical specialty or patient population dependent on the nature of the caseload.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to assign care and share knowledge with the multidisciplinary team, clients, and families.
  • Ability to organize work and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients and families.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize; and ability to initiate and implement a plan of care.
  • Ability to operate related equipment, including proficiency in relevant computer applications.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
